Do you go to the Statue of Liberty?
Due to the effects of Superstorm Sandy, the piers on Liberty Island were destroyed, so that no one can go to the Statue or for the same reason visit Ellis Island. We do have a picture stop in Battery Park where we can see the Statue and Ellis Island.

Is lunch included?
Guests are paying for the price of the bus tour and the guide. Lunch is not included. You may also want to bring some money for souvenirs and for tips to street performers who can take pictures with or for you.

Where can we buy souvenirs?
There is a souvenir stop near Madison Square Park.

What should we bring on the tour?
You should bring a good camera with charged batteries and plenty of memory or film. On a sunny day it is good idea to bring a bottle of water and sunscreen. On a rainy day, an umbrella or a poncho is appropriate. A small amount of money for lunch or souvenirs is good as well.

How long are stops?
Each stop is about 20 minutes, giving you plenty of time to hear the tour guide’s explanation, ask questions and take pictures.

How much walking is involved?
Our tours involve a good amount of walking to get a full experience of New York. Each stop involves about 2 – 3 blocks of walking. If you have some difficulty you can stay on the bus during a stop and we will be happy to help you if you need a walker or wheelchair.

If we have difficulty walking can we stay on the bus?
Yes, while the tour is more fun when if you get off, you can stay on the bus if needed.

Can we skip a stop?
This is not recommended. If you stay longer at a stop you would miss our entertaining guide’s information on the bus. You would have to pay for a taxi in order to catch up. This would create confusion for the tour. It is better to stay with the group.

What if we want to stay in New York?
If you want to stay in New York, you can get off with the tour guide, just after the World Financial Center stop. You will be responsible for getting back to your hotel. New York Tours will supply you with directions to your destination and your hotel.

Is there anything we shouldn’t bring?
New York is a very safe place and you will be with a group. It is best if you leave any weapons in the hotel.

What if we get lost or separated from the group?
Please call Joe Arias immediately at 973-296-1614 and he will help you get back to the bus right away.

What if we lose something or leave something on the bus?
Please contact us right away so that we can look for the item and arrange to send to you. While we will gladly protect your belongings, New York Tours is not responsible in any way for personal belongings.
